Overview
Receipt Scanner is built as an offline-first app. Receipt images, extracted text, and structured records are primarily stored on your device. Some optional features may use network services.
Information stored on your device
- Receipt records, coupon metadata, and scan timestamps.
- Local database files and backup archives you choose to export.
- App preferences and local notification settings.
Information processed by online services
- OCR text or aggregated analytics sent to app backend APIs when relevant features are used.
- Diagnostics and analytics events through configured analytics providers.
- Ad request data when ad-supported surfaces are shown.
- If enabled later, cloud backup metadata needed for Google Drive sync.
How information is used
- To parse receipts and organize records in the app.
- To generate spending insights and improve reliability.
- To support reminders and notifications you enable.
- To operate optional monetization and premium features.
Data sharing and retention
We do not sell personal information. Data is shared with service providers only to operate app features, secure the service, comply with law, or troubleshoot issues. On-device data remains until you remove it, clear app data, or uninstall the app.
Your choices
- You can delete records and backups from within the app or device storage.
- You can disable notifications in app or OS settings.
- You can avoid optional cloud/online features and continue using local mode.
